Agreed. You can hit with a push and mvoe your opponent away, or you can hit and penetrate in which he doesn't move back much but the punch goes deep into his body. That one really hurts!

The old video clip you see a young Bruce Lee demonstrating the 1 inch punch. That is a push not a punch, and it's not even a 1 inch punch nor is it wing chun...but it looks impressive. ..good wing chun does not look impressive..but effective
