Hoshi. 1 of the only 3 aspects of "Enterprise" I liked. (T'Pol being the other, and the Mirror Universe episodes the third). :)

"A lot has changed in the past 300 years. People are no longer obsessed with the accumulation of things. We've eliminated hunger, want, the need for possessions. We've grown out of our infancy."
- Picard to Ralph Offenhouse

"The challenge, Mr. Offenhouse, is to improve yourself... to enrich yourself. Enjoy it." - Picard, describing life on 24th century Earth

Quotes from STTNG Episode "Neutral Zone".

Regardless of which Trek series (other than Enterprise) you watched, Federation life was pretty decent. While there was still an economic system, it worked a bit differently than ours. Money was still used, people still worked. It wasn't a utopia. In fact, many episodes looked at those in the negative.

STTOS episode "The Apple".
The people were simple, living without a care. Worship "Vaal" and "Vaal" (a hyper advanced computer) would keep the weather perfect, provide food and drink and perfect health. Just do what you want according to "Vaal".

STTOS episode "Squire of Gothos"
Trelaine would provide whatever you wanted. A nice life of luxury, no work, just play with Trelaine.

STTOS episode "Who Mourns for Adonais?"
"Apollo", the ancient Greek god is back, and offers the crew a simple care free life, if only they worship him in the old ways.
