who defeated the Roman empire? was it the Mongols? i forgot.

IT WAS MEEEE!

The Goth's sacked the Roman Empire pretty thouroghly, although I wouldnt say they defeated the whole empire.

Damn Goths. Dressing like Marylin Manson and Listening to the Cure, and sacking the Roman Empire.

If you ask me the Roman empire faded for lack of interest. Be it Christianity or what ever the people simply lost the sense of empire and began ignoring the needs of the next city over. Therefore cities would fall one by one to predators. I understand the Dante was one of the first to pioneer the idea of the nation state.

My question is....
Who hired the Roman empire in the first place?

I know but it is early morning what do you expect?

I always heard that it had been sacked a few times, by Germanics, Celts, ect., but that it always regained power. In the end it crumbled slowly, there was no defining moment of defeat.
