Not bad - I just got back from teaching class, where a good time was had by all, and I just emailed my last paper for yet another graduate class to my father for proofreading, so I can turn it in and be done with this class as soon as it ends on Saturday. YAY!!!

That is great news Kacey! Whoohooo!

How much longer 'till your next class starts?

Not long enough... see, this class is a weekend class - 5 hours on Friday night and 8 on Saturday, for 3 weekends, every third week; the other class I'm taking this semester doesn't end until December, and the next set begin in January. But at least I'll be done with this one - the material is good, but I can't stand the professor; she's constantly telling us how good she is, and then saying she's not doing it.

Also, this paper was really hard to write; the class is all about differentiation in instruction, and the paper was so scripted it was hard to write; she told us flat out that she didn't want any creativity, because it was harder to grade, and she'd mark down for anything that deviated from the grading rubric (2 pages long for a 6-8 page paper) - and the discontinuity between the goals of the course and the paper demonstrating understanding of those goals really annoys me.

That kind of attitude would drive me to the point of opening my big mouth..Hey you deserve an A+ for putting up with that crap...

Glad I don't have to do that!

Amen my Brother..I have a hard enough time keeping my mouth shut when the department brings in some fresh-outta-law-school lawyer to brief on new law updates...Just give it to me in print and I'll learn faster...

My father is a college professor, and he keeps pointing out that this is just part of the price you pay for an advanced degree... I just keep thinking about all the time I could be spending on other things.

Yeah, but afterwards, you'll be making the big bucks, right?

Er, never mind

Oh, yeah... big bucks... an Ed. S. (Educational Specialist Degree - between a Master's and a Ph. D.) is worth a whopping 3.5% of the base salary for the district (not my base salary, the base for starting teachings) - about $980 a year. Yes, I said a year.
