I agree with Shesulsa - this is a bulletin board, not a phone, and I had to read your post several times before I knew what it said... and I teach learning disabled students who can't spell, and I can read everything they come up with. It makes you look bad, when everyone else is spelling (mostly) correctly, and you're not.

No, I do not like the way you write. It detracts from whatever message you may be trying to convey, because of the difficulty involved in deciphering it. You may think it makes you look cool, or up to date; I think it makes you look lazy and careless. If that's the opinion you want people to have of you, then by all means, please continue. If not, you might consider a different style.

Actually, Adam, if you take a moment to read the forum rules (available at the *Rules* link on the blue menu bar at the top of every page), the general posting rules will tell you that we like to abide by Netiquette, which entails using complete language forms when typing. There are some links floating around here somewhere on them.

Let me know if you have any trouble finding them.

Certainly there is nothing wrong with sending you a private message but people on the board also have the choice to let you know in a thread that you need to do something or not. In this case it looks like several peolple want you to not use your shorthand and I would agree with them that it is better to spell out what you are saying. Plus it will only help you in the future.

Okay Adam look on this forum it is appropriate for you to type out your messages not using shorthand. That is if you want people to take what you say seriously. Shorthand generally indicates that someone was just to lazy to want to convey their message. That is how the majority of people feel on the best message boards. While Techno is being blunt he is being honest and has been on this board a long, long time and is well respected for his opinions. Give us quality and people will like an enjoy your posts!
