DSL through Verizon!

I am an AT&T employee, so can't comment on Verizon ... LOL ... I, obviously, have DSL and occasionally I have those same issues. I usually end up power-cycling everything.

The full routine ... one computer on a network ...

Turn OFF the computer
Unplug the power from the router
Unplug the power from the DSL/Cable Modem
-----
Plug-in the DSL/Cable modem, wait for it to come up completely
Plug-in the router, wait for it to come up completely
Turn ON the computer

That is a power-cycle routine. Some would say, turn off rather than unplug. I'm an old timer, I unplug to ensure power is removed. It use to clear the memory. I doubt it does now.

Okay I am back after feeding some hungry kiddos!

I did actually try the power cycling or my version of restarting the computer etc. No avail as they have been having cable line issues.

Its going better than it was. Im at work after battling a cold that kept me in bed for the better part of 2 days. It was nasty, but now that Ive had some rest i feel great (other than some lingering symptoms).

I had those a week or so ago. I called, they tested, said the line is slow. I said, "I know, that's why I called" ... LOL ... they said, "There have been no issues, you'll have to wait for it to clear." ... again ... LOL ... I said, "There is an issue, I'm calling one in. Are you telling me there is a problem, and you're not going to fix it, but wait until it clears?" ... they repeated, "there have been no trouble reports" ... I just laughed and hung up. Turned everything off and went to work out and teach for about 6-7 hours. When I came back, it was all working just fine. I guess they were correct, just wait, it will clear.

I had a problem like that with Insight. I could order a movie and it wouldnt let me access the help page so I call them. The person on the other end said "well sir your going to have to access the help page on the TV" i said "i just told you that is also not working" she said "well sire you going to have to wait until that comes back on so that it can walk you through it" I said "you going to tell me that I called you so that you could tell me to wait to figure out the problem by myself...I think Im gonna get direct TV"
