Hello Kacey, how's the basement cleaning coming along?

It's coming - I have one more section of carpet to take up, which is going to involved emptying the bookcases, moving them to a completed area, removing the carpet, pulling up the pad (which in some cases means prying up the linoleum tile underneath; the pad is pretty well glued on in places - I don't think the former owners ever cleaned the carpet down there), pry up the tack strips, then move the bookcases back and reload them. Since I don't have A/C, and the predicted high is 100, I think I have plenty of incentive to stay in the basement later and get it done!

Then, of course, I have to go back and clean out the bedroom I dumped all the unsortable stuff into... so I can pull the carpet out of there.

That still leaves having new drywall put up on the ceiling and painting - but that's nowhere near as hard as the floor (since I'm not putting the drywall up - I'm paying someone to do it - I can say that!). But painting is easy.

Wholly cow, a bit more than I expected ... LOL ... a total renovation! Man, have you got your work cutout. Hopefully the weather will cool as you move back up above the groundline.

Good luck!

Yes, I'm totally a filet mignon type of guy ...

That's exactly what I had...picked myself up a couple of filets at the local meat store and broiled them myself, with a little melted butter. Not as good as a restaurant's or my wife's, but I liked it anyway!

Damn! And now it's lunchtime here -- I have to settle for spaghetti -- oh well ... LOL

I'm eating meatloaf while watching Babylon 5. Going off to the bookstore to help a friend study ASL.

Have fun everyone. =D

This is really not a weird thread, it has an excellant food court, it has the latest movie reviews and, as a bonus, will keep you updated on the weather.
A thread member is of royality.
