I study SKK as well, my classes include material from BJJ, like stand up techniques and weapon defense, but we also have a seperate BJJ class.

We don't have seperate JJ class perse, during the week there are four different types of classes; Kempo/Kung Fu, Kempo, Kung Fu and MMA ... so far, I'm liking the cross-training, and here I thought my previous outfit incorporated Kung Fu, or so they claimed ... not from what I've seen ... LOL ... the MMA class seems to be mostly conditioning with some JJ drills worked in.

thats pretty cool. how do the classes differ, like what do you focus on in the kempo/kung fu class, kempo class and kung fu class? I find that interesting that its broken down like that

I've only been at this school for close to a month now, the mixed Kempo/Kung Fu seems to center on techniques. It is mixed because of the fact that it is a midday adult class, to allow more to attend.
Kempo class focuses on forms, combinations and punch techniques, some jui jitsu movements.
Kung Fu class, to be honest, kick my butt. It's exercises and drills seems to all be done from traditional, low, extended stances. It incorporates much more fluid motion throughout. Traditional KF forms have a much different feel to them. I can't yet explain it thoroughly, butt it kicks my butt.
MMA class, and I've ony been to one thus far, was a cardio class, always moving. Running, exercises, jumping rope, shadow boxing, bag work, groundwork drills, never stopping for more than 1 minute, for 90 minutes.
I may have more as time goes on ... it's kicking my butt, but I'm sticking with it. It will either improve me or kill me ... LOL

Hello Drac ... Wonderful, ya gotta luv it! At least it makes the day go by a bit faster.

Not really..Unlike TV show cops unless it's a REAL emergency we cannot turn on our lights and sirens..Rush hour is rush hour and the traffic is always a mess..

Drac,
Today for me it has been 3 b&e's, 2 accidents and one domestic,(an armed with a knife thing). Otherwise it has been good day the the temp.in the 70's with a partly cloudy sky. T minus 8 then it is four o'clock then "color me gone".

I'll take actual calls to BS calls anyday of the week..We had a homeless male taking his clothes off in one of the bus stations..2 BS alarm drops at the layover stop for drivers..THEN the Feds call and say they believe an armed and dangerous suspect that THEY want is on one of our buses, he wasn't...
