I'm convinced that FW Murnau is the greatest filmmaker ever. Period.
Tonight I watched another one of his works, Faust:

Of course, one of the beauties of silent film is that it offers a blank slate for interpretation. A few years ago I watched Nosferatu with a live band doing avant-garde jazz accompaniment. My hair literally stood on end during the final sequence. I think the Vivaldi works very well in the clip above. It wasn't in the version I watched at home on DVD.
I was up and ready at 5:30 this morning with nothing to do. Never took two weeks off before, starting to actually think I'll get some honey-dos finished.......nah.
Sorry my friend but it is, I will always remember when my first child came about and I stayed home. All I did was honey do this and honey do that after that is was let me stay at work and do what I could at night for my wife.
