Please explain to me the real difference between Lead Hand and Reverse Punch compared to the Jab and Hook?
In SD stituation which is really and truely better?

I'm not sure than a jab and cross would be better or worse than a jab and a hook. It'd depend on the situation. As I understand it, the hook tends to be a shorter punch, and it's more telegraphed, so it's better thrown when they're closer and have been distracted by a few punches beforehand.

The jab is launched from the power hand & comes straight line to target. The cross comes across the body but,in eccence is the jab just the rear hand. The hook can be used to the lower ribs face or specific temple.Being that is is a partiacle arm bent action. The distance is less but hard to counter.

I agree with Marginal's statement.

As I teach any one to hook it's only after a series of punches first. While the attacker is too busy trying to block and you're in close enough to hook the body or target of your choosing; depending upon the situation.

As far as telling how to use it>I did that as far as combinations go I say lead to give entry-hook to follow with lead & step & slide into the cross -hook cross. But as I took it the thread asked for the anitomical break down of what the differance was & how it is deployed,Not so much as just how do combos predicate blow for blow.Either way I stated the anitomical break down & the n the uses (as far as 1 way)Technical schemtics are best read as a break down.
