It's phonietic sanskrit, written in Japanese. It says "oṃ marīciye svāhā (Sanskrit: ॐ मरीचिये स्वाहा) or "Praise to Marishiten, the radiant" or similar. It's a zen chant.
Kankiten, Idaten, Marishiten & Other Tenbu (Deva) in Japanese Buddhist Traditions has a section on marishiten and has the translation;
"MANTRA (Japanese)
おん まりしえい そわか
On Marishi-ei Sowaka
Literally = Hail Marishiten"
I don't worship marishiten myself, I'm against deification of human beings in my brand of Zen, but apparently she is the god of Money and Warriors.

It looks really nice. It is a great meditative piece actually. Looking at it, thinking about all this, makes me want to get back to a simpler time. It is amazing what a piece like this can do for your space.

I was just thinking about this the other day. He hasn't been on in a long time. From a guy who posted literally everyday, it is a bit concerning. I hope all is well and that we will get to see him again at some point
