Greetings All,

Usually my exposure to Muay Thai is sparring with you guys. The few Muay Thai players I have all faced hit like a truck.

Recently I had an opportunity to train with some Muay Thai players. I thought I was going to die before the class was half way through.

Some of the exercises we did:

Lunges across the training facility and then back again and again and again.

Lunges to standing on your toes while kneeing the air with your arms to one side.

Modified sit ups where you hold your partners ankles and life your legs up and your partner pushes them in any direction.

Tight elbow strikes on special focus mitts.

Hand and leg combos on focus pads.

Punching and kicking the bag (OW!). I have kick bags before, but these are hard. My fists feels great. Kicking with my shin HURTS!

We talk about fighting spirit. It's not about going for the KO, but breaking the other person's spirit.

I have been to three classes so far and can't wait for the next one. Because of my crazy schedule I plan on going two times a week. At this rate it may take a year for my shins to be conditioned.
