I just heard that Master Al Cole has passed away. Regardless of whether or not you agreed with his posts on this forum, he was an influential man who dedicated his life to Taekwondo. He will be missed by many. RIP Al Cole.

I learned from him but never met him, and have trained with those who he trained. Rest in peace, Sir.

The time you won your town the race
We chaired you through the market-place;
Man and boy stood cheering by,
And home we brought you shoulder-high.

To-day, the road all runners come,
Shoulder-high we bring you home,
And set you at your threshold down,
Townsman of a stiller town.

Smart lad, to slip betimes away
From fields where glory does not stay
And early though the laurel grows
It withers quicker than the rose.

Eyes the shady night has shut
Cannot see the record cut,
And silence sounds no worse than cheers
After earth has stopped the ears:

Now you will not swell the rout
Of lads that wore their honours out,
Runners whom renown outran
And the name died before the man.

So set, before its echoes fade,
The fleet foot on the sill of shade,
And hold to the low lintel up
The still-defended challenge-cup.

And round that early-laurelled head
Will flock to gaze the strengthless dead,
And find unwithered on its curls
The garland briefer than a girl's.

I've never met master Cole in person, however he always be a good example to me and many times he aswered my questions with nice replies I know I will miss him here. In the other hand he now is resting and in a better place, he no loger feels pain or sorrow, I hope his family is resting too and having only good feelings about master Cole. I am amazed that this happened almost a year ago and somehow I missed it. I always enjoyed reading his posts, he was very knowledgeable. I will pray that his family has adjusted well even though I am sure they still miss him. We lost a good martial artist and good person.
