Nope! I'm about to begin my study of classical Pirate fencing! See thread under Swords. I can start threads on an incredibly large number of steel types - both modern and historical. I used to think they just made 'em out of plain old stainless steel. Nope. Turns out, there's no such thing as "plain stainless". Also, the angle of sharpening has an incredibly large effect on cutting ability. At some levels, a 5 degree change can cause a tenfold increase in cutting ability!
