Well, it was a combination of trying to subtly brag about hitting 2k, and noting that Swordlady has racked up roughly half as many posts in a very short amount of time...

Geez, Rich! What are you, like 1 rep point away from popping that gold star out? Let's play Who Can Pop Rich's Gold Star Out. Me first.

ZAP!

Damn. Shot a blank. Gotta spread it around some first.

I am Cheap and I am Shameless, but I am more than one point away.

I have no worries as the little star only means that, a little gold star :D

Well, Lisa and I have been discussing who should get to give you that star, Rich. I wanna do it, since I gave Lisa hers. Then we were thinking it would also be way totally kewl if the second person to get that star were to give the third person that star and so on and so on ... kinda like some martial arts traditions. We had one where we started training with practice knives in purple belt, so when those students tested for blue, they gave a new practice knife to the next purple belts to be promoted.

But hey, if it's only a wee gold star ... :)

Very true but I could still be number 4.

Dan, Bob & Jonathon could sneak up and go for being number 3!

Actually...my post count on MT nowhere matches my post count from the first Net forum I joined. It was a discussion board for current and exmembers of my old church. I racked up over 3500 posts...in my first ten months. I had over 500 posts for four months in a row, and was the top poster in that time span - much to the annoyance of a few other posters who insisted that I needed to "get a life". I probably *did* need to get one. ;)

Then again, my post count on MT has been pretty high the past couple months. At this rate, I'll probably hit over 3000 posts by the end of the year. :uhyeah:
