I used to watch our Grandmaster execute his techniques with just an amazing amount of power. I was fascinated by why he did things the way he did and researched the background of Tae Kwon Do and Chung Do Kwan as soon as I was able. I was able to uncover a lot of interesting info about WHY CDK and the other Kwans developed the way they did.
For years, Chung Do Kwan was used by the Korean police because of the amazing power it developed. Its sister Kwan, Oh Do Kwan, was used by the Korean military. In fact, if a Korean soldier was certified Dan in a style other than Chung Do Kwan, he had to be retested for Dan ranking. Only Chung Do Kwan and Oh Do Kwan were trusted strong enough to require no retest.
