Best aspects of your martial art

What are the best aspects of your martial art? For example, what are its strengths and benefits / reasons why you train in it?

I think the best aspects of BJJ is the looks I get when I say "BJJ" around people who don't know what it is and that I get to wrestle around with sweaty men.

Really though, I stick with it because I am getting a workout without it feeling like a workout. It feels more like a class of me learning how my body works and how to make someone else's body move the way I want it to. Going from a person who has done all striking arts in the past and didn't know his head from his *** once a person tackled me to the ground or even grabbed me really to now inviting it has been pretty awesome.

My style.... It was designed for fighting people of low skill in large groups. Its very defencive. Primarily standing, one handed, open handed, grappling. Keeping the second one home for defence . But I am ambedextrious and can fight with either hand or both. It's got good movement and energy discipline. Nothing flashy, keep my options open and my defence high. Its at its best when fighting groups. And can be quite challenging when fighting an individual. I don't know if its me or the system. Probably me. I train in it, because its what I know, and what I'm good at. And for the record, grappling is, in my opinion, better then striking when you want to manouver. That gives you more oprtions in the more on one fight. Either for manouvering to a one on one, or running away. Further, you knock someone out, that is just one more thing on the ground that you can trip over. Break an arm, you can remove not only the person fighting, but anyone who helps them. Turn a 4 on 1 into a 2 on 1. That's much more managable.

The style is well rounded and does not really have any weaknesses.
It is technically sound.
It is a good workout.

Mma because it is a community. So i get to meet new people and experience different types of training.

the best style is not keeping a style but pick from every what fits best for you or your benefits. :)

For me, it is the quality of the people and the depth if the understanding of the Instructors. I also enjoy the traditional culture that goes along with it.

I do a couple of styles but my base style is Baguazhang.
What I like about Baguazhang is that adapts to what ever my opponent feeds me. I like that it moves off the line of attack and is more circular. I enjoy the deceptive nature of the art, and the emphasis on using palms rather then fists. I enjoy the meditative circle walking and health benefits of walking a circle, I like that the art is designed to deal with multiple attackers.

Jeet Kune Do is just a name used, a boat to get one across, and once across it is to be discarded and not to be carried on one's back.
