There's a Kyukido class in my county called Royal West Martial Arts that I've considered taking up along with my Wing Chun training. I went to one lesson for free and the instructor was very polite and said some good things to me and the class was really friendly and down to earth as well. But I'm still not entirely sure if I'd like to take it up, mainly because it seems to be part of a chain of sorts. Does anyone have any opinions on them?

It depends on what you mean by "Chain." There are two schools, one in West Valley and one in Lindon. The West Valley school is taught by Master Mary Kopesec, and Lindon is led by Master Meda West. Both are students of Grandmaster Royal West, who is probably the greatest martial artist I've ever met. He's a stud. They're all great instructors. I work with them a lot. It's not the only place I've studied, but I keep coming back because I love it there!
