acidemic testing vs martial school testing

Even if you get a belt that's already black it started out as a white belt. Every colored belt started out as a white belt and then was dyed whatever color it is. Underneath the coloring its a white belt.
If you’re going to be pedantic, be accurate. They are almost certainly made from black cloth, not made as white belts, then dyed.

Because buying a black belt that you haven't earned with skill is cheating.

They're not all senseless and pointless, not if people think about them. The thing is, many people are lazy minded and as such will not think about them.

My 'real job' involves control & automation. I have done quite a lot of fabric and stranding automation so I know a little bit about this. Even if you are talking about a 100% cotton belt, it will not start out white after processing. Virgin cotton out of the field is handled and processed differently. That is why it cost so much more. Most items that say 'cotton' nowadays contain synthetics at varying percentages. In this process, the color is established from the initial compounding stages, so whatever color is chosen, the finished material will be that color from jump. Even white (which is just another color).

Umm, this is near exactly what I inferred in my post.

You are arguing for the sake of arguing without saying much. I welcome the banter but lets keep it on topic.

If you cut into a belt, not necessarily a black belt but any belt that's a color other than white, you will see that on the inside the belt is white. So for belts that are of colors other than white (including black belts) whatever the color the belt might be its only that color on the surface, beneath the surface its white.

Yes, the fill material is often white. Which has exactly nothing to do with what you posted before, which I was replying to.

That is padding/backing that is added to belts to help them keep their shape, similar to the several lines of threading. It has zero to do with the color.

Usually that’s the case.
Alright if that's how belts are made then I stand corrected but we're getting off topic. This all started when HighKick said if you paint a white horse grey it's still a white horse and that Im just arguing for the sake of arguing. What Im doing is constructive debate which is what he calls arguing. We all have our viewpoints but it's good to have your viewpoint challenged as it teaches you to think. I wouldn't expect or even want people to always agree with me because I like challenges and as such I sometimes like to have my viewpoints challenged. I know I can sometimes be wrong so when people disagree with me I can learn from that. Sadly lots of people will just walk away from the conversation instead of partaking in the constructive debate which can be beneficial to all.

I am an EE. My job requires me to 'what-if' everything. But the wisdom is when a person knows when enough is enough. Beyond that point, it becomes meaningless and wasteful.
