From the look of the position the lad was in when he fell I reckon he'd've been lucky to live if the shopkeeper hadn't been both alert and willing to do something.

Yes. It brought tears to my eyes. That child is lucky someone saw him and took action.

What is surprising is that this didn't draw a bigger crowd to see this, nor even a larger group right after the catch. Perhaps this incident is at a much more quiet end of the facility with fewer people, and thus easier to "not see"?

Kudos to the man for paying attention to his surroundings.
