Sadly another dismal day of weather for this years Trooping the Colour :(.

As I get older, I have to say that this sort of reminder of the traditions of our servicemen and women and the value of their oath to the Crown comes to mean more and more to me. When our politicians seem so venal and self-serving, to see our Queen honoured for the tireless role she plays as the foundation of our government is a great pleasure to me.

Especial honour to the Duke of Edinburgh for fulfilling his duty on an unseasonably cold and miserable day when he had only last week been in hospital:

Seen the Scots Guard at the Menin Gate September of last year. Very moving.
