Thank you so much for your response. It feels like I'm all alone in the world of Kenpo, like there has been an apocolypse or something. I do occassionally watch Tatum, I try to just watch to get the Kenpo out of it. When Mr. Parker passed, I was there with his family, and Tatum was aggressively badgering Mrs. Parker for the transferrence of the whole Kenpo line and organization to his name. I did not like the man I saw. Anyways I think it should have been Huk Planas, or Lee Wedlake that took over.

Parker was much centered on growing his business/legacy so it's possible that rubbed off on those around him. Mrs. Parker was a charming, perceptive woman not in the dark of her husband's business. Never met Huk but heard a lot about him as an up-and-coming force in the organizaton. He may have been a good successor. Dave Hebler was also in the inner circle, but I only worked him once with Parker and don't know how big a part he played. There was plenty of intrigue in that MA sphere in the 70's.

That's old history now, so use the art now for your own simple purposes staying fit and having fun.

My goodness, I keep getting all turned around on this website, very confusing. So, anyways, now that I think more on a possible successor, Skip Hancock would also be in line to take over. Skip, Lee, Huk and Frank were right there, training at his house. Mr. Parker held these guys in a very high esteem.That’s all history now, many people have self promoted to 10th degree. The previous guys I mentioned never sought the 10th degree, they were all promoted via an upper echelon of highly rated black belts. I miss that time very much, people nowadays make comments/judgements about Kenpo that is so hollow and empty. How can you properly evaluate and understand a system without knowing all the parts?
