The Importance of Infrastructure

As some here may know, I am a SCADA engineer and one that has bemoaned the decline in investment and maintenance in our utilities since they were privatised. This article from the BBC suggests that, just maybe, the realisation that we have to stop living off the back of what the Victorians built is finally starting to make headway:

If the efficiencies can be nudged upwards this has real potential (Yeah! Energy services pun attack! ).

It'll have to be quickly developed tho' to help combat this (which is what happens when you run an essential service for private enterprise profit rather than public utility) :
