WOW!

That's completely out of the water, at least 5foot, possibly 10+ in the air. Not bad for a Ton of shark.

There's still not a hellva lot known about these magnificent fishes. No-one imagined that they actually leaped out of the water until recently... most thought that they just hit from below and dragged their prey under. Most didn't realize that a shark will grab and hold on to it's prey, drag it down DEEP and let go... waiting for it to drown and bleed to death then snack on it. Nobody imagined that you could grab a white-shark by the nose and totally stun it (sensory overload) where it's immobile and you could actually pet it.
How much more do we not understand about these endangered creatures? One of the greatest predators on the planet and we're wiping them out slowly but surely.

Yes I have a great deal of admiration for these fishes. Thanks to Peter Benchley (author) and Steven Speilberg (film-maker) and Richard Ellis (shark artist/painter/author).

Yeah, so much for the idea of being safe in a rubber life-raft while adrift at sea.

Hmm

Ya know, if these animals were people, we'd be screaming to jail them and have them executed...

Yeah well.. that's IF they were people. But they're animals they're doing exactly what nature designed them to do. WE on the other hand are rational beings (the only ones on the planet ... I dare anyone to prove otherwise) and also have an inate sense of right and wrong and our hearts/souls/spirits will tell us that killing someone is wrong.
A lion chasing down a gazelle or a shark attacking a seal in the manner that they do, are doing so for very specific reasons. Both types of prey are quick and agile creatures and thus can get away from their predators. Both predators are ambush killers and thus have to hit fast and HARD to ensure their food isn't going to get away. Just like what we do to insergents and terrorist eh?, except we don't eat them.
Nature was designed as Darwin has observed, that the strongest and fittest will survive to keep the genetics (of whatever species) intact and able to carry on future generations. God has created each of these creatures to do what Nature requires them to do to survive.

Holy ****!!!! This is amazing. They are scary creatures, but are just predatory animals doing what they do to eat. Thanks for the link FC and the pics MAC.

I certainly wouldn't want to be afloat in the ocean somewhere...
