Perhaps the government of our present day should remember that the roots of our justice system go very deep and they play fast and loose with the social contract of Parliamentary Democracy at their peril?

PRISM is definitely not a US-only concern.
Telecom traffic, whether voice or data, does not take the shortest route from place to place, it takes the least cost route. Many times that route can include a U.S. NAP, even if a U.S. party is not involved.
