not really a birthday, but I also didn't want to start a new thread for it either, if I'm wrong, anyone can correct me, but it's been fourteen years since the passing of SGM Parker, hopefully he's still training with his maker.

Salute.

Having the honor of meeting and chatting with his son, EP Jr. through him I can see what a great guy he must've been.

I say happy birthday GM Parker. :asian:

Although I wrote this poem when I was an Orange belt, it's still the way I feel today....

To Mr. Parker

When I think about it sometimes
It amazes me
How much you changed my life
(and even saved it, I think)
How different I am now
From what I was back then--
How wonderful, how strange
That through your words and actions
(and the people whom you touched)
That you have touched me

Even though we've never met.

Rest in Peace, Sir.

Yes, Chad. You are right--it is the 14th anniversary of his passing. Maybe people should post their feelings/thoughts in the "Memorials" forum (Mr. Brady already started a thread over there for Mr. Parker).

Sorry, MACaver. It's not Mr. Parker's birthday, but the anniversary of his death (his birthday was in March).

Ok ... happy rebirth then... (if his belief systems were in accordance to his faith then it would still be appropriate ... no? :D )

(thanks for the heads up... whoops)

Nah S'ok... I haven't suffered foot-in-mouth for a few weeks... I was about due for a relapse. :D
Regardless, I still have respect and regards for the man and his son and the art.
