Whether this is just high profile fluff or will start an actual change in attitudes to violence towards women in India only time will tell. One thing is for sure, it is way past time that the culture addressed its issues in this regard, not that Western societies have much to brag about by all accounts

On that point, my brothers, if your temper rises to such a pitch that you feel your only recourse is to strike the woman you purport to love, walk the hell away and use your fist on something (inanimate) that does not cry or scream. All of us are diminished when one of us uses violence against someone weaker than ourselves.
