I had a weird thing happen today I think I finally understand a little more about Ki.
First off; My first instructor taught about Ki and "one point" back in the 80's. I tried to understand how to apply it to everyday life. I had a good thoery as to what it was, but just didn't grasp it. Since then I've thought about Ki and tried using it to no avail.
Yesterday I read a couple chapters in a book called "Aikido in Daily Life". The discriptions help tremendously.
Today while chipping Ice in the driveway I was getting fairly run down beating this shovel against the ice, when I remebered what I read. So I relaxed and focused on "one point" and breaking the ice was easy.
This is the first real insident I 've used Ki outside of the "ki-up". I don't have any point to this post other than I feel like I just passed a belt test!!
It's very exciting to me..OK. One of those milestone moments.
