Does the boxing art use the "metal" strategy?

To use the knife to cut the wood is the "metal" strategy.

- A punches on B.
- B punches on A's punching arm to interrupt A's attack.

Does the boxing art use this strategy? Your thought?

FWIW, it shows up in the old manuals sometimes. It faded as gloves became more common and larger. But I wouldn't lay money against any given boxer not doing it outside of a gloved environment.
