The fact that the punch was only 5cm means that there would be an enormous difference in power between trained and untrained. But the most interesting aspect is that 'muscle memory' is probably now more attributable to changes in the brain than to reflex. :asian:

Practice will make you better. Basicly is what this is saying. You practice your brain will learn how to move what you are practicing better. Your body is learing how to coordinate the arm, wrist, hips, feet, muscles of each, and so on as one. This gets better over time and practice as you learn the technique. Then once learned it is set as the brain has added something to itself. Pretty common sense really. How much money was wasted on a study on why someone who practices is better than someone that does not?

I think the point was that the brain actually physically changes to accomodate that knowledge, not just that practice makes you better.

Understood. Just like anything else you learn will. We have long known that different people with different abilities have different brains. What would make martial artist any different.
