my favorite kung fu movie: enter the dragon, followed in a close second by five deadly venoms. karate movie would be street fighter-sonny chiba . Jujitsu -red belt. I love most of the old samurai movies. and for fun mortal kombat.

Are you talking about this one

Budo: The Art of killing

I am indeed. That "Art of Killing" was added after the movie was made to entice American audiences to watch it. When it first aired it was just "Budo".

It still gets me pumped up some thirty years after first seeing it.

"Big Trouble in Little China". I dont know if it really qualifies as a "martial art" movie but i love it.

Incidentally, a friend of mine who is 2nd Dan in Kempo always reminds me how displeased he is with me that i would classify it as such. :)

It's a documentary, so I'm not sure if it qualifies or not.

70s Kyokushin propaganda meets blaxploitation meets real life Bloodsport.

Tadashi Nakamura is my teachers teacher, Charles Martin is still Nakamura's student (I've met both), I'm a huge Shigeru Oyama fan, and a huge knockdown fan, so it works for me. A bit of a cheese factor, but the movie never gets old to me. Amazon instant video has it for about $7.

Slightly off topic, but the worst Martial Arts movie I ever sat though was Redbelt.

I would have to agree. Well it might not be the best martial arts movie ever, that would be hard to answer as there are so many movies that would compete for that position but its certainly one of the best. The entire series is a great comedy series.

The Story of Ricky is the greatest thing ever.

Full movie is on youtube, here's an example of the cinematic brilliance you're in for

- never back down (part 1, not the second soft porn crap)
- ip man 2 (i think the 3rd one will be a favourite too, but didn' see it yet)
- here comes the boom (is kinda funny)

Ip Man 3 was pretty cheesy. And I missed Chinese Karl Urban, one of my favorite parts of both Ip Man 1 and 2.

Hands down

No questions asked. Just felt like more than a movie to feature an art. And I promise I didn't get a little choked up when I watched it the first time.
