What do you think of the case of missing Caylee?

Or more specifically, do you believe Casey Anthony, the mother of Caylee, is telling the truth regarding her innocence?

I haven't kept up on the case that much but Casey Anthony purportedly made a statement that she didn't call police right away because she was conducting her own investigation. That stinks of bull.

What is your gut instinct about little Caylee? Do you believe she is alive? Do you think her mother could have sold her to someone? Could it be she really was kidnapped?

I too hold no hopes for the life of that little girl. Earlier today on CNN one of the scrolling headlines during the happy and jubilant DNC were the lines that read mother in Germany kills two toddlers with a hammer and a mother in Sweden killed three of her small children.

Blessed be the little ones for they know not what their parents do.

Had to nurse an aching heart today thanks to those damned headlines.

I have to wonder why parents do these things. But I don't really want to know. There is no explanation that justifies their actions.

Has anyone been keeping up with this case? Apparently, both Cindy and Casey Anthony are pathological liars. Cindy Anthony allegedly gave investigators Casey's hairbrush when they asked specifically for Caylee's hairbrush.

What the heck is going on? None of the family member seem to be particularly upset.

If I were an investigator on this case, I'd be pulling my hair out.

We have a case being tried here at the moment where a mother is being accused her her uncle and boyfriend of 'kidnapping' her daughter for the reward money that was being offere. Luckily the little girl was found but it's very disturbing. They'd seen the case of Madeleine McCann who was taken while on holiday in Portugal, her parents started a big media campaign to help find her, people had raised money to help so they thought they'd fake the little girls kidnapping to get money for themselves! Madeleine hasn't been found yet.

Shannons best friends father is a quite well known MMA fighter here, he'd gone onto the MMA forums and contacted everyone he could to put posters out and help look for Shannon. His daughter was in bits, not only was she worried abut her best friend she also started being scared of being taken herself. He's absolutely furious at that family for causing his daughter and Shannon so much distress. Shannon is with foster parents somewhere secret so his daughter hasn't seen her friend at all. Shannon it seems was kept drugged and tied up, she was also drugged for a long time before the 'kidnap' too, the stepfather was arrested for having child porn on his computer. of course the family are all blaming each other now.

Perhaps the Caylee case is something similiar that got out of hand? it's horrible that the truth may never been known and there may be no justice for this child, I hope there is though.

With the confirmation of chloroform in the trunk, confirmation of an internet search for it by the mom and the key chems indicating body decomposition in the trunk as well ... I'm leaning towards the mom killing her and threatening her own mother's life.

This one breaks my heart. I look at my two little girls and can't even imagine a parent that could do such a thing to their own kid. Obviously something's up with the myspace page she had and all the partying and all the other weird stuff they've been finding with google searches (neck breaking and shovel, ect.) and such on her home computer. I don't understand why it's so hard to get the truth from this lady. I'm really hoping she was just sold off to someone out there and the feds track her down unharmed. I really do...

For anyone inerested, there's a real good site I've been following:
http://www.examiner.com/Subject-Caylee_Anthony.html

I really encourage you guys to check it if you've been following the case. Please post anything if you've got anything to share.

thanks

I'll click the link and check it out.

Did any of the Anthony family take a lie detector test? If not, why not?

The SOB is most likely the mother. There is too much damning evidence against her. Not reporting her daughter missing for nearly a month, the presence of chloroform in the car trunk which is used to render someone unconscious and a by product of a corpse.
Such a sad turn of events.

Poor poor child, I hope they do get the person responsible.

On the case over here of little Shannon, her mother was found guilty and then of course all the other stuff comes out, the child had been drugged for two years while her mother partied etc etc there's a a pattern there with these parents isn't there? I can't begin to describe what I think of them.

The mother, Casey, and the baby, Caylee, lived with Casey's parents, Cindy and George Anthony. However, Casey was living a secret wild party life. She even admitted to a friend that little Caylee got in the way of her partying.

Chloroform was found in the trunk of Casey's car. She had googled "death by chloroform" (as well as "neck breaking"). One theory is that Casey gave the child chloroform to make her sleep but overdosed her.

There certainly is a pattern, Tez.

The grandmother is suspicious though. She gave the investigators Casey's hairbrush when they asked for Caylee's. She has also retracted some of her words and also lied. When the grandmother called 911, she said Casey's car smelled like a dead body was in there. On Larry King, she said it smelled like rotting food. I've never smelled a dead human body but I've smelled plenty of dead animals. There is no mistaking a dead animal and I assume a human body is much worse - a smell that would be so overwhelming you would know the smell was from an animal or human.

The police removed bags and bags of stuff from the Anthony home, including pesticide. I was wondering why pesticide. Then I rememered the trunk of Casey's car had lots of maggots. There was only an empy pizza box in the car. Well, we heard there was a load of trash and now "they" (not sure who "they" are, maybe the investigators) are saying it was only an empty pizza box.

The FBI lab in may take up to two weeks to cull the DNA evidence. Casey Anthony had a paternity test done when Caylee was born. The FBI are going to use that.

However, the police seem to be convinced the body is that of Caylee's. They have to be very careful though. The defense team is doing their thing of distorting and misleading.

Human flesh rotting is pretty strong but only subtly different than animal flesh rotting. I've heard that veteran police officers can even ascertain the approximate length of time a body has been there just by the odor. Still it's not pleasant either way.

That little girl's last moments were horrifying to be sure. So many children have lead horrifying lives and deaths.
What a sad species we are, being so intelligent yet so cruel to our own offspring at times.

Correction: Casey Anthony had apparently moved into an apartment and wasn't living with her parents at the time of Caylee's disappearance.

I'm not sure if they did but I hope they did. Some may argue but I think anyone and everyone should be grilled in this case - my suspicon is something's up with that family. I'm sure there's alot that could be uncovered by a lie detector test, even if it's just to cross them off the list.

Casey Anthony's brother was "forced" to submit DNA and fingerprints. He wouldn't do so voluntarily so he was subpoenaed. Supposedly, he was acting out, angry over Casey being arrested. Huh?

The Orlando Sheriff said that no clothes were found inside of the trashbag that held the skull. Now, they are saying clothes were inside of the bag.

It sounds like the police may have planted evidence. I hope not. The defense could not have planted anything as they were not allowed access to the remains. I wouldn't put it past defense attorneys to plant evidence to make it look like the police had done so. I know that sounds conspiratorial but look at some of the people whom they've defended. Won't it be something if the skeletal remains are not those of Caylee Anthony but her clothing is found with the remains?

Is everyone connected to the case a flaming liar?

I realize that planting clothing would be stupid - no decomposition time (unless the defense did it to make the police look like bumbling idiots).

It's the contradictions that drive me crazy. Even Nancy Grace stated, "The body has been confirmed to be Caylee Anthony." No such thing has been confirmed as of yet. I asked my husband, "Didn't Nancy Grace say confirmed?" He said that's what he heard her say, too.

Hmmm...maybe the Orlando Police have never said that clothing was found in the trashbag. That could be media hype! Arghhh!

I guess we will know if the remains are Caylee's soon enough.

Why did the mother want to see the remains? Maybe she planted a new piece of clothing with the body so she could say that's not Caylee's.
