Verizon Tells Cops "Your Money Or Your Life"

Either way, Verizon has major issues.

Assuming Carol is right, the phone rep should have been able to tell the Sheriff in under a minute that, purely technically, they could not assist the police.

Even if Carol were wrong, the corporate response is stupid, inhumane.... and bad finance. A dead guy will never pay off that huge $20 bill.

Incidents like this cancel out hundreds of thousands of advertising dollars. These days, ever notice how most operations marked, "Customer Service"....... aren't?

Excellent point. I don't think anyone expects experts on the line but having a good working knowledge of the technology of the company you represent would be simple common sense. Of course, common sense has been dead a long, long time.
