I'd go see it. The Last Dragon is my favorite martial arts movie.
The lines are great and very memorable (Especially when you watch it 15 or more times. ;)

Playtime's over, boy.

Although TLD was lame as hell, I loved the movie for some odd reason. I really don't see how a sequel would work at this time. With a few exceptions, sequels don't do as well as the original and that's how it'll be with this.

If they just market it as a normal movie it might do fine, only fans of TLD would probably recognize it as a sequel, Im 22 and i BARELY remeber this moving coming out, now theres been so much time between movies, youd need to do something interesting with how you brought it out.

Young Guns
Lethal Weapon
Star Wars
Alien

All of the sequels did as well, or better than the original.

If they make a sequel Ernie Reyes Jr. has to be in it.

THE LAST DRAGON II?

I loved the movie when it came out, I think I was 10. Let's get real though. This is a project that will go direct to dvd or video. The demographic that this movie will be marketed to will be a PG-13 audience. No one even knows who Taimak is in that age group. Besides, it's really lame that he has to get a petition together to get a movie made. There are a lot of writers in Hollywood who struggle everyday to create something worthy of a studio's attention. To use a petition signed by martial artists is whack! If he wants his movie made, let his agent sell it, not fans of a movie almost 20 years old. Why would I support a script I haven't read?

i would love to see a cool sequel, but i jope it is not corny. it was good for those times but i dont think it would float now. i was also a big fan and was thrilled when it came out on DVD. i got a vhs copy from ebay for 40 bucks when it was hard to find!

The current (Dec. 2003) issue of Black Belt has a brief article on Taimak, who is taking on the Patrick Swayze bouncer role in a stage production of the movie Road House. He is a 7th degree black belt in Chinese Goju under Ron Van Clief, it says.

I only skimmed it, but I didn't see anything about a Last Dragon sequel.

Hey Kenpo Wolf, I can see how your comment about most sequels being flops is true. But there are some that rocked the big screen. Let at the Matrix Reloaded, Lord of the ring; Two Towers. Granted these are parts of trilogies, but they still rocked.

As cheesie as TLD is, I would love to see what kind of action the sequel brings to the big screen. Besides, the last funny ma flick I think I saw was Kung Pow, and that was released quite a while back.
