The Importance of Stretching

Hi again all,
agree, stretching is very important, for the body.
Retired martial arts instructor here.

What you describe here I call “throwing” a punch. I don’t throw punches, I shoot them. You Karatekas should try some western boxing.
It kind of depends on what punch you’re throwing and the opponent’s reaction to the punch. If you’ve confused him into thinking one thing, when you’re really throwing an uppercut, and he ducks into it - no matter how good your control is you’re probably not going to able to stop it.

I’ve sparred with some Shotokan guys that will punch a hole right through your chest and give the finger to your dojo mates behind you when it comes out your back. There is a certain point in the trajectory of that punch where I don’t “think” they can stop it.

Opera singer - “You sing like a hillbilly. You really ought to take proper singing lessons”

The King - “Thanks for the advice… but tell me, how many of the thousands out there tonight came to hear you sing?”

(Is that Chuck Norris punching)
Thousands listened to the Backdoor boys and Out of Sync and New Kids smokin rock too. Just because lots of people are “beliebers” doesn’t mean Justin can sing. “The King” is very overrated. I’m not a fan of Rush but their talent is undeniable. Not much a fan of Queen but Freddy Mercury could definitely sing.

Freddy Mercury was the very trumpet of gods. I could hardly imagine a more tuned instrument. Pavarotti maybe.
I think he was the greatest singer/songwriter in my lifetime. He was taken too soon. Would have loved to have seen what else he would have come up with.

Rush, that’s quite a stretch of time since i listened to them, got to seek if they’re on the Chinese tubes

When a band sing about something other than romantic love, then they have achieved greatness.
