I spent part of my growing up there. The later part of my teen years. Then my family moved back to the mid coast area where one of my parents family lived. When I was 17 there my life was American graffiti for real. So many stories, lots of epic adventures. Someone once told me "portland is like a micro boston" in some ways maybe, but it's got it's own unique flavor. It's also tiny compared to Boston. I don't get to go there much anymore because it's like 100 something miles away from where I live in bangor. But I do go to Portland once or twice a year. All the places I lived are different there now, lots of gentrification. That's probably true for most of the country though, I probably only notice it more because it's a smaller city.
