Congratulations to Team-X TKD's (http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=56083165763&ref=mf) Deireanne Morales (http://usa-taekwondo.us/news/2011/0...-u-s-taekwondos-national-team/40488?ngb_id=10) on her victory over Charlotte Bjelke of Denmark at the WTF World Championships in Korea about an hour ago. Check out the video at http://www.dartfish.tv/Presenter.aspx?CR=p1c25464m449251

I particularly liked the move at 1:51 of round 3, even though it didn't connect for a point.

I hope those that still believe that punches don't score, notice the punch that she delivers for a score. Like I said, LaJust crap leaves judges bored so more and more punches will score.

Unfortunately, not long ago, Deireanne lost to Croatia's Lucija Zaninovic, 4-0. Still, as a representative of Team-X TKD in North Hollywood Ca, I just want the world to know how proud we all are of Deireanne.

I have said it before and I will say it again, at just 14 she has a long road of great opportunities ahead of her.

Congrats to Deireanne and Team-X. Good fight. I found myself coaching at the screen. I was wondering when the back leg ax to the head was going to come, after so many front leg cuts. Great job.

Tim turned Team-X over 100% to Joseph Salim last summer. He has also left his job as UCLA's TKD coach. He is a CrossFit gym owner & trainer now and into Weightlifting. No more TKD.

What a waste. He was such an intelligent competitor and has tremendous potential as a coach.

Agreed on the competitor and coach part. Not sure what you mean by "What a waste" though. Tim taught the kids so much over the years. It became obvious that his interests were changing just about 2 years ago now. Before he officially departed he joined forces with Joseph Salim, an intelligent competitor himself with tons of olympic, world and european experience. http://www.taekwondodata.com/josef-salim.a4pk.html#top

Last summer Tim turned the team over to Joseph. It was a sad day, but not unexpected and we think Joseph will continue to provide the same excellent results that Tim has.

People's interests change in life. Tim is now a successful business owner with his CrossFit gym. Congrats to him. Not a waste at all. Providing USAT still exists in the next few years, don't be surprised to see a few more people making teams.

It is a waste for Taekwondo, especially in the US. Master Joseph Salim is also a highly intelligent competitor and coach. I remember his fight with Juan Moreno at the Sydney Olympics. It was obvious that Joseph Salim and his brother did their homework on Juan in preparing for that fight.
