Looks interesting, embodies many principles found in CMA.. "Kung Fu Wang" often mentions the use of cross hands,
a concept present in Taiji’s “holding the ball” posture as well as in the cross-arm movements found in Northern Mantis.
A shared logic of structure, bridging, and redirection.

They use a wooden dummy, similar in structure and function to the one used in Wing Chun.

I don’t think there is a sport version of Silat. I took Mande Muda for a short time. Very animal like in its movements. Fun while it lasted.

Interesting. With all the angle off training they do, their sparring is pretty linear. Most TMAs end up sparring this way. Couple good take downs.

There is a Sport Silat Association in the US now- It was started a few years ago by Guru Daniel Prasetya of Inti Ombak Pencak Silat- Denver USSSA – United States Sport Silat Association
