I've said that a gun that isn't loaded won't work.

I'm 100% with you on this.

If a

- gun is not loaded, it's a useless gun.
- sword is not sharp, it's a useless sword.
- punch has no knock down power, it's a useless punch (you may not agree with me on this from a "point system fight" point of view).
- ...

I don't mind to talk about crimal law in this forum. But this is a MA forum. I prefer to talk about how to defeat opponent either with

- open hand,
- cold weapon, or
- hot weapon.
