Scroll appearence ?

2nd Black Belt
awhile back I purchased this scroll ( the long one in Kanji) and hung it outside my office door. Yesterday I decided to change it out. So I just picked one that was about the same width withou looking at it. here it is White Cranes. When I realized how short it was I assumed I would have to lower hook upon whih it hanges. But, I hung it on same hook while I went to find another hook. I relize using the same hook the Cranes were at eye level. Then I notice that the picture ws not in the middle of the scrroll but way below middle allowing it to hung on same hook and put cranes at eye level. I quite like it. So, was this rndom change or are many scorlls picture located so that the picture is at eye level no matter the length. I understan the tradition is to frequently change the scroll along with the sesons or holidays. I have not checked any other of my scrolls as they are packed away.

If you click on the pictures you can see the full scroll placement on the wall.

Thanks.

I like the crane scroll. That's one that I would hang up on my wall. Where did you find the scrolls?

search ebay for Japanese crane scroll

In my opinion they are amazingly inexpensive to very expensive. I did not add the note below.
I am not accociated with ebay and do not receive any benefit from them. I do however make purchases from them. LOL

After looking at lots of scrolls for sale on various sites I now believe that the subject/picture of lots of scrolls is not placed in the middle of the scroll, as I originally thought. The first scroll I hung was approximately 6' long and the hook is about 7' from the floor. My eyes are about 5' from the floor and the Kanji was approximately centered at my eye level.

The current scroll is 46" long and center of the picture is 57" inches from the floor. The center of the picture is 27" below the top of the scroll and 16 from the bottom of the scroll.

Conclusion: regardless of length of many scrolls the subject of the scroll is approximately my eye level.

Personal Note1: I apoligize for my pathetic typing in my first post above.

Personal Note 2: Yes, I am retired and have more time on my hands than money. LOL

My wife and I currently have two adult children living with us. And frequently are visited by 3 other adult children and 3 teenage grandchildren at least weekly. And my wife took the picture in the above post. And noone has noticed that I changed the scroll about 2 weeks ago. And obviously they are very different scrolls. Oh, well........
