Far from a complete answer to the question (as I don't think there is one) but a pretty great analogy in my humble opinion.

In terms of qualifications, besides being one of the best BJJ and No-Gi Grapplers of the day, he recently won the latest season of the Ultimate Fighter.

I also think he makes a great point in the following video, especially when it comes to a lot of the style vs style arguments saying, "I can create a hypothetical fighter that can beat anyone, so what are we really talking about."

I recently started watching a lot of his stuff on YouTube. He knows the fight game, self defense, and human physiology all very well.

Yeah he's a truly great mind. He's currently working with Stephen "Wonderboy" Thompson and his father, as well as Firas Zihabi at Tri-Star, which is incredibly terrifying to imagine how much they will learn from each other.
