Can't beat any of the "Rocky" Soundtracks. I also like to listen to Baroque music as well. Bach and Vivaldi are good. I skip Rap and anything with profanity in it.

Don't forget about "situational awareness", while running and listening. Shame to run for health and get hit by a car. That happened to me during a break when I walked to the grocery store to get lunch and got hit by a lady pulling out of the parking lot.

I searched for this topic, there's several threads on it. I wanted to revive one.

Some good ones I know or have heard of, for running or practice, general "*** kicking" music:

Eye of the Tiger
Everyone Was Kung Fu Fighting
These Boots Were Made For Walking
Another One Bites the Dust
Fighter (Christina Aguilera)

Any others? I'm making a massive playlist right now but this window is in my way so I will add some more in the near-ish future...

Lately I've been running to a flogging molly mix. Irish folk/punk music is great for fighting and driving. Rage against the machine gets me good and parshed. Pantera, slip knot, NIN--always NIN--ministry, my life with the thrill kill kult, pwerman 5000, prodigy, orgy. . .man, I could just keep going forever.

Ramstein - Du Hast
Lords of Acid - most tracks from LUST
Guns & Roses - You Could Be Mine
Judas Priest - Breaking the Law
ACCEPT - Balls to the Wall
Iron Maiden - The Trooper

:)

Adema - the way you like it
10 years - wasteland
Perfect Circle
Megadeth
Metallica

My iPod is never without APC and Tool. It's a little too down tempo for me to work out to, though. I'll add System of a Down.

I like classic rock when I'm running the streets:

All Along The Watchtower-Hendrix
Layla- Clapton
Stairway to Heaven- Led Zeppelin
Gimme Shelter- Stones
Free Bird- Lynard Skynard
Dream On - Aerosmith
Blue Sky- Allman Bros.

If I'm in the nearby forest preserve, I seem to prefer either no music,
or classical....Mozart/Vivaldi type stuff

"Run to cadence with the U.S. Army Infantry."

The Final Countdown is a good one too...don't know who did that one though.

Europe.

80's Hair Metal band.

"We're leavin' together, but still it's farewell,
and maybe we'll come back, to Earth who can tell."

Europe sucked, but they had 2 hits - The Final Countdown, and Carrie.

I can't believe you knew that, John. You're nearly as lame as me. Nearly.

Job Experience. I worked for a "Music Industry Influenced Fashion and Accessories" chain in Management for YEARS.

Plus they had a song on that same album called "Ninja" so I stole the tape from my friend in highschool.

ARRGH!! Running!!! I HATE running. I'm SO bad at it. The brutality of my playlist must drown out the pain!!!!!!!!

South of Heaven - Slayer

Trapped Under Ice - Metallica

Whatever - Godsmack

Only - NIN

Lose Yourself - Eminem

Workouts, calesthenics, but NOT running...

Winning - Santana

Hold Your Head Up - Argent

We Will Rock You/We Are The Champions - Queen

Make You A Believer - Sass Jordan

Don't Stop At The Top - Scorpions

usually techno or industrial for running. i like inspiring lyrics or heavy metal for bagwork, but a good solid rythm is where it's at for the cardio.

alterately, try downloading an audiobook. fictior or self help, philosophy....

My boyfriend runs with an MP3 player, but I don't know what he has on it. I wanna steal it for snowboarding, but I don't know what I WANT to put on it (plus I fall a lot still. I may break the dang thing LOL).
