I first said that i wanted to practise shaolin but i saw on tv some wing chun and i just loved it.. So what in this list of martial arts would be the best to be able to defend oneself in the street?

Welcome mate, right now, I think you've had some great advice. I don't think you'll truly know what feels right for you, until you go along and have a look. Sounds like a lifetime opportunity too. I'd jump at the chance to get out of my office type environment to go there.
