Altho' obviously a demonstration for kids (and so everything was much more 'stage-crafted' for their benefit) I always love to see the naginata in action, especially when wielded by one of our female fellows.
Seeing what, on the surface, is a big, unwieldy, weapon being used with skill by a girl gives the lie to the "women can't fight" myth.
Okay, in empty handed arts the "good big 'un vs good little 'un" factor comes in to play but once weapons are in the equation a lot of that goes away.
