Martial arts and social vices

Early in this thread I relayed a couple of anecdotes of noted masters who were no strangers to drinking. Circa 1970 many 18-24 year-olds (who were the major age group in karate then) worked out hard and played hard - sex, drugs and rock n roll - including some elite competitors. Being at that physical prime in age and conditioning kept away much of the negative effects. I'm not advocating such practice, but, hey, it was the 70's - an exciting time to be at that special age. I look back at those times with great memories. BTW, I still enjoy rock n roll.

Rock ‘n’ roll is not a vice; it is a human right!
