Whenever that I feel unhappy, I always like to think about the 7 happiest things in my life. After I have repeated those 7 things in my head over 30 times, I start to feel happy again.

Of course it doesn't have to be 7. It can be 6, or 8, or ...

Have you ever tried this method to make yourself happy?

Nope. I've never tried it. Are you feeling sad over there?

I'm not sad. I just want to be happy. When I get old, sometimes it's difficult to feel happy. IMO, to remember that happiness in the past can be helpful.

For example, the day when I got "A" in my TOEFL (Test Of English as Foreign language) exam, I was very happy.

Find happiness in the future and in the preset as well.

When you get old, you can't compete and win in tournament anymore.
But you can avoid injury that will keep you from working out. You're happy when you work out, right? And without the sporting aspect of your art, you can concentrate on the finer points and theory. Plus, you've lived long enough to get old! If you enjoyed competing, you must enjoy a challenge. Getting old is just another challenge.

But yes, it's good to count the good things, past and present. It keeps the inevitable bad in perspective.

Jostedalsbreen glacier Balestrand Norway...was moment of happiness….. actually more like a moment of contentment…. Get the a similar feeling in places on the coast of Maine
