anyone heard of this style...i appologize for possible spelling errors...I'm not sure if it's kito or kido my guess is kido due to its resemblence to "aikido" i'm assuming it's some type of hybrid style.....can't find to much info about it on the web compared to other topics where there is a wealth of knowledge.........any ideas?

thanx

Hi,

I'm pretty sure you're refering to Kito Ryu Jujutsu, which was one of the two primary sources for Kano Jigoro's new system of Judo (Kodokan Judo, known at the time as Kano-ha Jujutsu). You should find some references to it around the place, as far as I know the system still exists and is taught in Japan.

You'll find a few references to Kito ryu since it was, as Chris pointed out, a major influence on Kodokan Judo. However, you won't find out much about it specifically as that particular koryu art tends to be very selective as to membership, and fairly secretive as to technique. If I remember correctly, it is based in Okayama.
