Hi,
Ive been doing Kenpo for the last 5 years but ive had to move away so can no longer train in it.
However i have found 2 local schools one teaching the 5 pattern animal hung kuen kung fu and the other teaching hapkido.
My question is are these styles practical for self defence as i am not interested in tornaments. I know they both probably have there advantages etc. But what would your oppinions be on the most easiest to come naturally and be effective on the street?
PS I also did try MMA but there were rules designed for the ring, which put me off as on the street you need to be able to utilise all your weapons /targets. Please let me know if you think ive been misled on the MMA.
thanks in advance
