heavy weight GI?

The Ronin size 6 Gi is definitely too big for your height and weight. Its 35-inch length is much longer than your Sun’s 32 inches, meaning it’s designed for taller, heavier people.

Okay, The web site says size 6 is for people 6'-6'3". I am 5'5". So this jacket is to fit someone 10" taller than me. Look at the picture again, where would the sleeve hit if I was 10" taller. And where would the jacket hem be in relation to their waist? The guy I got it from is bout 6' and he said he likes the arms and legs short. Any way it worked for him.

I found this chart for Isami Karate Gi's. It might be of some interest. It would be helpful to have similar charts for other brands, Shureido, Tokaido, Hirota, Hayate, etc.

I love a heavyweight dogi when I want a hard kata workout and to sweat a lot. If I'm doing bag work, calisthenics, or weight lifting and supplementing kata for some added cardio then I just wear gym clothes. For tournaments, heavyweight is the way to go for kata because it accents and highlights all the things the judges want to see.
