It is with great regret that we inform you of the death of Grandmaster Hong Jeong-pyo (June 7, 1925 - January 6, 2011).
Grandmaster Hong trained directly under Grandmaster Yoon Byung-in at the YMCA Kwon-bup bu in the 1940's and early 1950.
Many people don't know about Grandmaster Hong. He stayed out of the lime light and was simply a sincere Mudo-In and Sabeom. He was the original founder of Kangduk-Won in Seoul, Korea. He became too busy with his day job and turned it over to Grandmaster Park Chul-hee as chief instructor, though he would teach and train.
He was a great treasure to martial arts and will be greatly missed.
